Forza 3 IS the best racing sim of 09!!! (and maybe even further!?)
+ it has better graphics!!!
(maybe not as mindblowing as some people thought it would look like but a massive step up from forza 2)
you all tend to forget that this is the same console they´re working on and they made huge improvements in graphics (added c0ckpit view), lightning (HDR), physics (tire flex...), tracks (content and graphics wise) and still keep it at butter smooth 60 frames.

I´m not totally into the old metal thing (besides metallica and some other bands)
but it suits the game more as well.
the game demo is fantastic and i recommend that everyone should try it out.(the menu alone is pure genius :D)

Forza 3 seems to be a lot easier than the second one (even on the hardest settings)
the fanatec wheel is available at fanatec.com or .de (idk)
and at insidesimracing.tv (a very good alternative to the g25)
but currently it´s sold out...next shipment goes out in november.

the youtube video you´ve posted is the R8 with the V8 engine. (like in the GT5 video)
it has 4 exhaust pipes.
the R8 in FM3 is the V10 one (2 oval exhaust pipes)
it sounds more like a lamborghini gallardo.
I think Forza 3 is really close to what it sounds in real life
NFS shift is a bit exaggerated and distorted (on purpose)
i mean...ALL cars sound like race cars...though they´re stock....and they have backfire??? WTF???!!!

and to be honest i almost forgot that they wanted to implement that in the game.
as long as the career is not as boring as in FM2 im fine with that!
...and for a console racer they´re simulating A LOT!
but saying that they´re running out of things to simulate is stupid.
there are ALWAYS some things you could add.
for example:
Weather,
better Damage (bursting tyres, overheating engines or brakes)
active aerodynamics...
right now they´re (turn 10) doing their best to dislike them.
the Forza games are great...no doubt about it
and in my eyes FM3 can compete ev...
so now they got a halfway proper looking damage model on ALL cars
plus day and night cycle AND weather...
if thats what PD is delivering...then Forza devs better be already on the 4th game!!!

you´re actually right with what you´re saying about shift and ATI cards (it´s a ATI driver problem...and maybe gets fixed in the new catalyst version...10???)
i run a hd3870 with an amd x2 6000+ 4 gig ddr2 ram and still struggle to manage 720p without some minor stuttering o_O (nvidia cards doesn´t seem to have those sort of problems)
D!rt 2 by the way is also a awesome game! (D!rt was okay...almost like Grid...but nothing TOO special...
NFS Shift is a great game.
and right now i´m having A LOT of fun with it. (awesome sound, the c0ckpit view is amazing!, nice graphics and a good choice of cars AND tracks)
Forza 3 is also going to be a huge racing game among the 360 with its top notch tuning and physics system ( though we forza fans recently got some shocking news: "high poly and texture res cars ONLY in photomode" ...and maybe for exported replays )
